David Grutman and Evan Rosenfeld Launch New Production Company: DGN Studios

Black Coffee, Papi Steak and More Headline Early Projects

Miami, FL.  – David Grutman, the Miami-based entrepreneur and founder of Groot Hospitality, announces the launch of his newest venture: DGN Studios, a multimedia production company focusing on original content from the arenas of hospitality, entertainment, entrepreneurship, music, sports, social media and much, much more.

These pillars–and the areas in which they dovetail–comprise Grutman’s professional and personal interests; the projects made by DGN Studios reflect his fast-paced and ultra-dynamic world. And, while Grutman stands at a unique crossover of big business and celebrity frisson, his ultimate goal always comes back to one mission: for people to experience something unforgettable and extraordinary. The same drive underscores the material that DGN Studios will produce.

With “DGN” standing for “David Grutman Network”–both speaking to a platform for varied content and an emphasis on Grutman’s far-reaching professional and social ecosystem–DGN Studios launches in November, 2023, with multiple projects in the pipeline.  DGN Studios’ slate will include documentary film and TV productions, a variety of unscripted formats including reality and competition series, and scripted entertainment ventures. In addition, the company will produce across digital channels such podcasts, social media, and branded entertainment.

DGN Studios has also made a first look deal with Emmy Award-winning production company FILM 45, part of Endeavor’s non-scripted content division.

“In coming up through the hospitality business in Miami and Miami Beach, I’m fortunate enough to be able to tap on so many different industries and interests. What I’ve found is that I really operate at the intersection of entertainment and entrepreneurship,” says David Grutman. “I can’t wait for viewers to get a glimpse of this arena. That’s really what DGN Studios is about: providing premium, dynamic entertainment inspired by what I see and live, day in and day out.”

Evan Rosenfeld, formerly of Vice and Hecho Studios, has signed on as DGN Studios’ Executive Vice President. Rosenfeld has worked on well-known Miami-centric documentaries such as Cocaine Cowboys and 30 for 30: The U.

One of the first DGN Studios projects is a documentary on Black Coffee, the renowned South African DJ with whom Grutman is close, having forged a relationship through the entrepreneur’s Miami Beach nightclub, LIV. The project, co-produced with FILM 45, spotlights Black Coffee’s professional and personal life, capturing such moments as the musician’s first Grammy win and his sold-out Madison Square Garden performance in New York City. Additional projects include: a competition-style show, co-produced with FILM 45, inspired by Grutman’s popular entrepreneurship class, The David Grutman Experience at Florida International University (where Grutman hosted such names as Drake, Victoria Beckham, DJ Khaled and more as guest lecturers); and a docu-series with Hulu (produced by SMAC) following David “Papi” Einhorn, Grutman’s co-owner on Papi Steak, which is one of the highest grossing per square foot restaurants in the country (and which will soon open its second location in Las Vegas).

DGN Studios and David Grutman are both represented by WME. DGN Studios’ legal representative is Darin Frank. DGN Studios is based between Miami, FL and Los Angeles, CA.
